Legalities

For me personally I have had nothing but positive responses from people when I tell them that I Home educate 🙂 but I know it is not the same for everyone. So this page is for the legal side of home ed, which can really help families feel safe, knowing that they are legally allowed to bring up their own children in the way that feels right for them.

So the main thing is what the law says and that is;

Chaper 1,  section 7

Compulsory Education.

      Duty of parents to secure education of children of compulsory school age.

The parent of every child of compulsory school age shall cause him to receive efficient full-time education suitable—

(a)to his age, ability and aptitude, and

(b)to any special educational needs he may have,

either by regular attendance at school or otherwise.

But if you really want to get your teeth into it;

It’s the Otherwise bit that matters,  we are the Otherwise (quite like that 😉 )

  ‘Full time’ is different to each of us and for various reasons,  it’s all good 🙂
